No, it should not be considered as biographical in nature. What you will get is a little background and some links that provide a sense of credibility and accomplishment. Douglas H Youngs was born in Silver City, New Mexico in 1952. After a year long battle with bronchial pneumonia that almost resulted in death that began at the age of ten weeks old, he grew up an introvert afraid of the world, sickly and a target for bullies until the age of seventeen. Literature, super heroes and the art of television and film making were the major interests of the early years and of yes, story telling. In 1978 a character called the Stranger came into being and the start of a story with the hope of it being a first novel some day. That first story was lost in travels across the country, but the character was never forgotten. The idea of writing a book lasted too, but with no real focus or direction, just a dream. But a new inspiration was waiting in the 80's, a role playing game called Dungeons & Dragons. As the dungeon master in an interesting group of adventurous players DH Youngs discovered new characters and amazing worlds of fantasy and came upon the idea of real people becoming the characters in a story, this time a medieval fantasy in which game players became wizard, ranger, thief, cleric, bard and knight. With a title, The Infinity Box, and a finished book he began a journey that lasted years, searching for a publisher and collecting an assortment of rejection letters instead of a publishing deal. College happened after that with the advice of a special someone who thought some college writing classes would be beneficial. A few classes turned into a degree in English and history, and a short lived pursuit of a masters degree. But another novel idea was born of the college years and a lot of classes with a writing requirement. A science fiction fantasy adventure called One Winter Night was the result of a college education, but like Infinity Box, this went in a drawer as an unpublished work. On April 1st, 2014 the planets became aligned, the world turned upside down and something called self-publishing changed the way writing books and getting published worked. That was the day The Regulators: Hell On earth Part One and Part Two were published and released for sale on Amazon and Barnes & Noble Booksellers. The Regulators characters were created in a way very similar to the Infinity Box characters, but instead of game play, the real people interacted and functioned like a team of super powered vigilantes and developed the personalities as reflections of the creators. One of those characters, Thunderbolt by name, became so as the second in a line of inter-galactic warriors called the Stranger from 1978 writings tasked with defending the universe. What was in 1978 linked decades of thinking, dreaming and creating and a subsidiary of Amazon, Create Space Platform Publishing made finally becoming a published author a reality. April 1, 2014 The Regulators: Hell On Earth part One The Regulators: Hell On Earth Part Two July 15, 2015 Safe In My Imagination January 29, 2017 The Regulators II: Out Of Time Part One with Allen D Lyons Februaray 4, 2017 A Dog's Life October 22, 2017 Tales of The Regulators Volume One: The Frankenstein Project April 22, 2018 Tales of The Regulators Volume Two: Rise of The Red Ryder A long line of Regulators books lies ahead, as well as the final publication of The Infinity Box and One Winter Night. He also has a biographical work on the life of his mother who dies due to lung failure and a brother who dies of cancer. And hopefully one day his work on Regulators will be of enogh interest that a filmaker will take it to the big screen. www.inquisitr.com/1326344/justice-league-saved-my-life-says-new-author/ Interview with Scott Rutherford on The Inquisitr www.goodreads.com/book/show/21867566-the-regulators?from_search=true Listing on Goodreads www.goodreads.com/book/show/21867566-the-regulators?from_search=true Listing on iAuthor www.authorsdb.com/authors-directory/10506-douglas-h-youngs Listing on Authorsdb creators.co/@RegsLeader Articles on Creators, formerly Moviepilot www.barnesandnoble.com/s/Douglas+H+Youngs?_requestid=679355 LIsting at Barnes & Noble www.amazon.com/Regulators-II-Out-Time-Part/dp/1499552319/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1500693205&sr=8-2&keywords=Douglas+H+Youngs Listing on Amazon.com |
